Join the WhizKids Bridge Club
In March, 2022, the American Contract Bridge League Educational Foundation's (ACBLEF) newly launched initiative, BridgeWhiz, in partnership with the Youth Bridge Association (YBA), began hosting The WhizKids Bridge Club.
The WhizKids Bridge Club meets every Sunday from 1- 3 pm PST, providing any youth (ages 6 -17) at any skill level with casual moderated play. The goal is to ensure these students have a free, safe place to apply what they learned in class in a club setting while growing their love of the game.
Currently there are 91 kids registered for the club with 30 youth that turn up every week and are loving it. Here are some comments from our youth members:
"It's really fun. And I love how everyone is supportive and it's OK to make mistakes."
- Katherine B.
"It's great to be able to chat with other kids while playing. The coaches are nice and give advice when you need it."
- Chris L.
Membership is still growing and is open to any student that has completed at least a basic bridge class. Students can join sessions without a partner and stay as long as they want. Robots or YBA members fill in any empty seats.
More sessions are expected to be added as interest in the club grows. The ultimate goal of The WhizKids Bridge Club is to be more than just a club, but rather a hub for all things youth Bridge. There are already plans to incorporate tournaments, mentorship opportunities, and seminars with Bridge celebrities.
The WhizKid Bridge Club plans to continue running throughout the summer and into the next semester of BridgeWhiz.
Please consider making a donation that will help grow our youth programs.
