Founded in 1987 as a charitable arm of the American Contract Bridge League, the ACBL Educational Foundation became an independent 501 (c)(3) nonprofit foundation in 2017.
Mission, Vision & Goals
The American Contract Bridge League Educational Foundation, a 501(c) 3 philanthropic organization serving North America, exists to increase the number of bridge players and to support enjoyment, growth and engagement in the game of bridge as part of building a vibrant future for the mind sport for generations.
Vision
Our vision is to enrich the lives of people from all walks of life through the exciting game of bridge by providing programs, resources, and grantmaking that support initiatives to:
- recruit and teach new bridge players, with an emphasis on youth outreach;
- increase skill, opportunity, access, and enjoyment of players at all levels; and,
- create impactful research, technology, tools and resources that enhance and grow engagement and access.
ACBLEF Goals:
- Build a strong, multi-faceted Marketing & Media model for impactful visibility.
- Grow and strength mission-driven Programming.
- Solidify a mission-focused, progressive Grantmaking program.
- Create Development initiatives that support the mission and operations of the ACBLEF.
- Ensure solid Governance & Operations protocols support organizational mission and progress.
